Ok I never said to ask to do magick, thats magick. I said be careful what you do comes back to you three, or even seven fold. And yes I do magick too. I've healing, banishing, and other types of magick, so you might want to get off your high horse. Blessings, Ravenfire.

Wow, you ARE snarky!

I'm not really sure why you dislike me, since you've never met me, and I've only posted a couple replies on this board.

I dislike Silver Ravenwolf because she waters down beliefs, and makes them sparkly and pretty. As many on this forum has said, Llewellyn is NOT the most accurate books to read on the subject of the Craft.

The Craft, the Goddess, and the fact that Witches are here the heal, protect, and lead people back to the Goddess. how is Silver watered down any of that? It is why we are here. You people know nothing of why the Goddess made us. I give up. the Craft will die out to people who don't give a crap about why we are here. The Charge will be read with no sense of heart, or meaning. The creation story will be read, and tossed aside without care. I see now why our misson has yet to be done. No one cares. And the ones who do, are few, and laughed at. I fear in time the truth will be forgoten, and the Goddess will be lost. All your years in the Craft as taut you nothing. We aren't here to bash one another, or be caged by ones who keep us at bay, and never let us have the freedom of religion they have. We will never meet our goal to find peace for the world, if no one cares. I don't hate you, I don't hate Wiccans, or Pagans. I don't like the people who for thousands of years, have kept us in the shadows. Locked away deep in caves. We never stand up for ourselfs. It's time to start listening to the real words, read the Charge, and the creation story, read it, and understand it. It says why we are here. Blessings RavenFire

Who is the goddess you speak of here RavenFire? and the 'charge'? and whose 'blessings' are you bestowing on us?

Ravenfire:

You are a snarky little thing, aren't you? Being in the Craft for 6 years, and only being 21, has proven to be a detriment to you. Most that I've known to be in the Craft for less than you have more knowledge than you. And yes, I found your listings on Witchvox, which is where I found that informaiton.

$ilver Ravenwolf espouses her watered-down version of eclectic Wicca. The Charge is Wiccan (written by Doreen Valiente, for Gerald Gardner's Book of Shadows). $ilver also steals writings from Christians and makes them Pagan. For example:

"Goddess loves me this I know / For the Spirit tells me so / Little ones to Her belong / Addicts are weak, but I am strong."

And which creation story are you speaking of? There is no creation story for "Witches" as a whole (unless this has escaped many of us).

Some links on the controversy of Mama $ilver:

Run run....get some more books on the Craft (not published by Llewellyn) and READ READ READ.

The problem with all this (even though on certain parts I agree) is that simply put:

Witches are not here as secret sacred healers - they are here to do what is asked of them by themselves, their GODS (note no particular gender there) and the circumstance they find themselves in. Sometimes that means doing nice things and sometimes not. It ISN'T all about "The Goddess" or leading the masses back to "Her" whoever she may be in the minds of any particular individual. That may be YOUR job but that does not mean it is everyone elses.

The "Charge" and "Creation Story" are modern inventions and even were they not ... they are the product of particular religions within the whole. I know lots of creation stories and all of them (even the ones I believe) are frankly, a manner in which to present explanations for what some don't know in a way that others will agree with. Recruitment is recruitment no matter how benevolent the reason.

NO one goddess started everything. Witchcraft ISN'T how it is presented with neat "Charge" and so on and the whole "persecuted throughout the ages to be secret" and etc is no more than simply the way of things. No more special than the fact that a model T Ford is not allowed on the Highway. I can think of several social groups whose persecution over history makes even the most zealous very modern "burning times" hoohah look pale in comparison.

At the end of the day you will need to curb your notion that because you believe something is then all others must conform - especially if so much of it is so modern. Silver Ravenwolf is very modern and very new age and in some ways very way off mark.

That she is doing the job she is supposed to do and in some ways it is entirely what is neccassary for the modern era should not be confused with being right - or even correct any more than my providing a calm counterpoint to your expressed views should be considered the new way you must follow.

You have your opinion and that is good but you should not mistake that opinion for being fact or a party line others must agree with - in a very real way agreement rarely teaches us anything anyway. DISagreement more often makes us think and learn.

No worries, RavenFire, I certainly didn't mistake you for my teacher! I was asking you to clarify the meaning of what you had written, but, as you say, you have no need to answer me.

Listen here, I know where I stand, and "Aradia Or the Gospel of the Witches" by Charles G. Leland goes with Sivler to. She is not totely new age. A lot of her ways are older too. And, just cuz I'm 21, does not mean I know nothing in the Craft. Some of teachers were from one of the oldest Celtic familys in Ireland, and some were in the Craft for 10 to 20+ years. The rest of the Teaching I got were from Sivlers books, as well as others. So I need nothing from you. I kmow the ways of old, and the ways of new. Some of you old Crafters need to look back, and really see how you treat us young ones. The main reason we like to keep to ourselfs, is everytime we speak we get craped on by you. You never give us the time of day. And its nice how you don't being in the Craft 6 years mean anything. Its not how long, it's what you do with the years you put into the Craft. You should look back to the teachings of older times, where it says to take time teach the young, for they are the future. Blessings Ravenfire

Greetings All

Hmm well as it seems I have my jesters hat on already I will say also here ... before we all get way too serious ....

"Where Has All the Magic Gone?"

Oh sorry ... that was me ... I've got it! Embarassed

It was just laying around and I figured if no one was gonna claim it - I may as well take it. I've got it out in the side yard on blocks. I'll whack the tyres back on it and wheel it round the front again and whoever can come and pick it up when they are ready.

Sorry to have been a bother .... Laughing

At the end of the day ... we all have things that grind our teeth and the "generation gap" is as alive and well today as ever it was on Happy Days. Reckon now that we are pretty sure we have spotted a few allergies for everyone we might just all take a deep breath, mark it as "Done" on the "To Do list" and move on eh? Smile

I may not be a Trad Witch, but I am willing to read and learn what they say here. Which Celtic family? No answer, right? How did you meet them? Why would they teach you?

My HP is bigger than your HP.

Naughty naughty Scott!

If someone writes "gods" I generally take it as being "gods and goddesses". I didn't mean to make people gender-sensitive, it's just that I'm very anti-"One True Goddess" stuff.

I know it's wrong but I have been reading this at work and almost wet myself laughing! Ravenfire, you fascinate me, with charges and laws of 3 and Silver Money Wolf (yes, I did trawl for all your posts) and I haven't had such a good giggle in ages! This has made my Friday afternoon at work, which normally drags so, a real blast. I thank you! Laughing

LOL OK first off I am obviously not wiccan. I may have studied of it for many years...7 or more, to be exact, but not one time have I ever performed a wiccan ritual, used a 'blue' candle, athame or anything else purportedly wiccan.
I have, however, cast spells. All of them have worked and it didn't take a moon cycle either. Many were 'harmful' if you will. I don't know how to explain magic. I do it cuz I want or need to, I follow no book or formula and it always works. I think it's pretty cool actually.
I guess my 'beliefs' are more practical on a daily basis and not a religious outlook. Not sure how any of you feel about that, but just being honest.
I have to say that the one thing that has followed me over from my old christian beliefs to my present day ones, is the fear of being hurt or dare I say, taken over by a malevolent spirit.
Other than that I've pretty much gotten over all of my old church taught fears, once used to 'keep me in line'.
I am a witch because that is who I feel I am. It is a way of life and not a religion to me. And yes I use magic, do not follow a rede nor believe in karma or threefold anything.
Ok just thought I'd share! (*LOL)
Thanks for listening...
