I recommended this book to Owl a few months ago and I dip into it on a regular basis. It is called 'Chronicle of Celtic Folk Customs' by Brian Day and I shall reproduce the blurb on the rear:
"..contains over 450 customs of the Irish, Manx, Scottish, Welsh, Cornish and Breton Celts. This is an easy to follow, day-by-day guide to past and current folk events, features the celebrations, ceremonies, feasts, dances, games, crafts and superstitions which, along with many other aspects of folklore, constitute Celtic folk culture today. Each custom is annotated with dates, times and directions, together with a description of events. The history, beliefs and attitudes associated with each custom are revealed, portraying the rich cultural diversity of the individual Celtic nation"
It even has traditional recipes associated with some of the customs, which for me was a blessing in disguise! It is well presented, illustrated and well worth the money(£17.99, although I got my copy from Amazon for over half that amount). _________________ The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeing new landscapes, but in having new eyes - Marcel Proust

I have that book somewhere on my shelves, haven't looked at it for ages though! I got mine for a couple of quid a few years ago at a second hand bookshop.
Thanks for the suggestion. Have just purchased a second hand copy for £1.30 on Amazon! There were plenty of others available at similar a similar price.
Thanks woodwose, I'll add it on to my list of books to order. I know it'll be a good book because you recommended it, it's just that I don't have the money to buy the books I want to buy at the moment.
I am working, but I've just had to put in a £187 order for aromatherapy supplies. So at the moment it's a case of "money? what money?" _________________ "History is just a myth that has been written down" Napoleon Bonaparte
